No Strings Attached A Cappella is a co-ed group of UIUC students who combine their versatile talents to create innovative performances and spread their artistry throughout the Midwest. Although they frequent their roots in jazz, NSA is known for their wide variety of music, including medleys that blur the boundaries between genres. This tight-knit group of friends is driven by their love for making music and memories together. Even though they're called "No Strings Attached," they guarantee you'll fall in love.
Currently a 15-member undergraduate RSO, No Strings Attached was founded in 1994 by students from Penny Dreadful Players, a campus theatre group. Since then, they have placed 2nd at the 1997 NCCA Finals, recorded several live CDs and digital albums, taken 3rd place at the 2022 and 2024 ICCA Quarterfinals, and performed all over the Midwest. They released their first EP 'Syncopation' in 2023, followed by their first full-length album 'Totality' in 2024 to various streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, etc.)
